New Construction Inspections
Buying a new home is rewarding and stressful at the same time. TARION Warranty Corporation is a
private corporation that was established in 1976 to protect the rights of new home buyers and
regulate new home builders.
TARION administers the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan (ONHWP) Act, which outlines the warranty
protection that new home and condominium builders must provide, by law, to their customers.
TARION ensures that the new home builders abide by this legislation, and step in to protect consumers
when builders fail to fulfill their warranty obligations.
The Ontario New Home Warranties Plan consists of four Warranty periods for which inspections are recommended:
- ✓ Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
- ✓ 30-Day Warranty Inspection
- ✓ 1-Year Warranty Inspection
- ✓ 2-Year Warranty Inspection
By choosing Inspectations to provide you with the warranty review, our inspectors will review with you what
you should expect at each stage of the five periods and work with you to ensure that each review is completed
prior to the milestone date as set out by the ONHWP. We will also recommend to you what items to look out for
which may be considered to be problems. Our inspectors will review the list with you and make any additions or
changes as necessary.
